Hi everyone! Mistra and I decided we wanted to do some wordy arty taggy things this year, but we couldn't find anything online that was quite 'us'. We really wanted these tags to be about us and our life as it is today. And so... we made up our own, originally titled, "My Life" Art Tags... clever huh!?!
We randomly spurted out a pile of word prompts {and some of them may be a bit 'different' heehee} and then put them all in a jar. We'll choose one each fortnight or so {or later or sooner if we got bored}.
After creating each tag, we write a little about what that word means to us on the back of the tag.
The plan is to post a new word on the 1st and 15th of each month, so if you want to play along too, just check back on either mine or Mistra's blog! We'll add a list to the side bar so it's easy to see where we're up to... because, we're a bit random, that's just how we roll! LOL!

So here's our first word, although this one wasn't random, we thought we'd go with our "word" for the year, a good place to start as any.
Here's my tag...

This is a giant 8"x4" tag. The background was colored with Distress Stains and blended with water.
I embossed part of the tag to add an interesting texture...
On the back of the tag, I journaled about why I chose this word for 2013.
I plan on binding all my tags at the end of the year with a giant binder ring to create a book of tags. So I decided to make a cover for my Tag Book...
I had so much fun with this tag! The larger tag is also 8"x4". The background was inked with Distress Stains, stamped and texturized with Liquitex Natural Sand.
I brushed a light layer of white paint on these epoxy alpha stickers. The little tag was embossed with a texture fades embossing folder.
I added bits and pieces of corrugated card by The Dusty Attic, staples, eyelets and stitching to complete my tag.
Hope you decide to join us with our 2013 project. I am so excited because I can never stick to one project for such a long time. This will be a great way to record my thoughts and emotions this year!

Awesome! I love the look of really cool tags, but haven't gotten the hang of making them myself. I may start something like this to use different mediums and learn new techniques. What is that chicken wire looking stuff? I see it a lot on your pages. I think I need some, whatever it is.
Oh what fun this is going to be! Count me in. I love your tag and the cover is beautiful. I hope to post mine by next week. I want to post your tag on my blog with your permission of course, let me know
