Take a peek at the gift box I made to share with you today!
Below are a few steps to help you create this gift. :o)
Below are a few steps to help you create this gift. :o)
I purchased a plain wooden box from my local craft store. It was inexpensive and it also came with a smaller box that fits inside. The first step is to remove all of the hinges and hardware.
Next I used Donna Salazar's stamps (Bubble Wrap & Dear Sir) and Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder to create a lovely texture on the surface of the box.
The embossed images were heat set.
I then sprayed the surface of the box with Clearsnap Smooch Spritz in River Mossy, Ice Rink and Pralines & Cream.
To even out the surface a little more, I dry-brushed a layer of white acrylic paint. The edges were then inked with Truffle Mix'd Media Inx, and the hardware was replaced on the box. Now it's time to decorate!

The large flower was made from Donna Salazar's Rose Creations dies. The smaller flowers were made from her Bitty Blossoms dies. I use these dies very often to create flowers for my projects. The corrugated flourishes were painted and inked with Mix'd Media Inx in Truffle.

The gorgeous bling is called B.Y.O.B and it comes in separate pieces to create your own flourishes!
Thanks for stopping by today. Have fun at your next stop on the hop!

What a beautiful box! Such a lovely gift!
This box is so beautiful! I have to thank you.. art has always been my passion, but circumstances took me away from it for about 5 years. I was terrified to start again because I thought I had forgotten how to create. I found your blog awhile ago (maybe a year?), and you, along with some other incredible artists online, helped inspire me to start again. I've never left a comment here before, but better late than never, right? Thanks for inspiring me to follow my Bliss!! :)
