Hello my sweet peeps!  Most of you are familiar with my crafty side, but I haven't shared much about the personal side of me.  So I decided to come up with a list of random facts about me.  If you would like to share a few (or a lot) of random facts about you, PLEASE DO!  I would love to get to know you all a little better.  :o)

Btw... that is my High School Graduation Pic!  Hahahaha!
<---------------------------

Hmmmmm.... where to begin?
  • My world changed when I found the love of my life in June 2008.  We got married in January 2010 and I am so very happy now.  I know I've shared this fact before, but it has to be #1 on my list.  :o)
  • I am a neat freak and I LOVE to organize... but when I create, it is very difficult to actually see my table.
  • Coffee ice cream is a major weakness of mine!
  • Speaking of coffee, I cannot live without it.
  • Did I mention that I LOVE coffee ice cream?!
  • I am not a girly-girl.  I never wear make-up (I don't even own make-up) and I don't like to shop for clothes.  I'd rather be shopping for scrap supplies!
  • I do not like talking on the phone.  I prefer to email or text.
  • I have a walk-in closet full of shoes, sandals, boots, etc. and I never wear any of them!
  • I have never understood the saying, "You can't have your cake and eat it too."  Why the hell not?  It's my cake so I'm going to eat it!  Feel free to explain this quote to me.  :o)
  • I have a thing for plastic organization boxes, so you can imagine my excitement when I visit The Container Store!
  • I had my first child at the age of 21 and my second (and last child) at the age of 24.  This baby-making factory is closed for business!  LOL
  • As much as I love to create projects, I DISLIKE photographing them because the sun likes to play games with me.
  • EVERY time I start a layout, I always hate it, but I know I won't stop until I am satisfied with it.
  • My family and I are Apple lovers so you will see Macs, iPhones, and iPads all over the house.
  • I REALLY don't like bugs, but I won't squeal like a piggy when I see one.  I use my ninja-stealth-slipper-whacking technique to solve this problem.
  • Even though I am a floral designer, I am not a gardener.  This is probably due to the fact above.  Ewwwwww.
  • I love my scrappy friends from all over the world.  And although, I will never get the chance to actually meet most of you, you all have played an important role in my life. (sniffle)
  • 'Naranjo Aguirre' is actually my married name.  Many people think Naranjo is my maiden name, but that looooong last name is all my hubby's.  I used to have a four-letter last name.  Now look at it!  LOL
  • When I was younger, I always preferred the nickname 'Tasha'.  As I grew older, I began to like 'Natasha' better, but my close friends and family still call me 'Tasha'.  Feel free to call me whatever you'd like... as long as it's not something mean.  LOL
  • Like many crafters I know, scrapping is therapeutic for me.  I don't scrap for the fame... I just want to inspire others the way others have inspired me.  But don't get me wrong... it is definitely nice when people recognize my work.  :o)
Well, that's it for now.  If I think of more random facts, I'll post a Part II.  :o)  Please feel free to share with me!  Have a wonderful day!

Happy Sunday friends!  It's time for another reveal from Creative Scrappers!  I had a fun time creating this layout because I used one of my favorite paper collections... a really OLD collection from BasicGrey called Phresh and Phunky.  I just love the colors and grunginess of this line.
The photos of my daughter were taken in Cancun several years ago.  I think she looks so cute with her hair braided!  :o)
I made these blooms using Donna Salazar's Rose Creations die.  They are super simple to make (which is why you have seen them on my last few layouts).  I have gotten a few requests on how to make them, so I will post a tutorial soon.  The little heart behind the flower is a Dusty Attic chippie (Mini Hearts DA0514) that was dry embossed and glitter-fied.
This tribal chippie (Tribal Designs #7 DA0311) was dry embossed, painted and heat embossed with Distress embossing powder.
The title was adhered with foam tape for added dimension.
The Hinge (DA0509) was altered the same way as the tribal chippie.  I also added mini brads to it.
A little lacing using hemp cord...
The little buttons (DA0510)are also chippies that were covered in paper and stitched.
I love adding eyelets, staples and stitching to my layouts.
That's all for today!  Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Fall everyone!

Hello lovely friends!!  Today I'd like to share a layout I created for Donna Salazar Designs.  It's a layout about one of the most important changes in my life... my marriage to my other half, my soul mate.  We got married in January 2010, on a cold, yet special winter's day.  We did not have a big wedding; we were married at City Hall accompanied by those close to our hearts.  We were dressed in matching Juan Valdez sweatshirts because of the sentimental value they hold.  We used to spend endless hours drinking coffee and talking at Juan Valdez Cafe in Pereira,  Colombia.  It is like our little haven where we shared stories and just enjoyed every moment together.
For this layout, I mostly used Donna Salazar's Theater papers from her Antiquities Collection.  I love the subtle colors on these papers.  I also used this month's sketch over at The Dusty Attic designed by my talented friend, Michelle Grant.  The photo was taken on our wedding day as we celebrated with family.  (You can see from this picture where my son gets his enormous cheeks from LOL.)
The scalloped heart and coordinating pearls are made by Want2Scrap.  They manufacture Nestaboard and Nestabling that coordinate with Spellbinders' Nestabilities dies.  Check out their site  to see some of the gorgeous bling they offer!
I love the texture that hemp cord adds to a layout.  And of course, I couldn't forget my beloved eyelets!
This gorgeous ornate corner (Ornate Corner #11 DA0582) is manufactured by The Dusty Attic.  It's nearly impossible for me to create something without some Dusty Attic chipboard.  These pieces add such beautiful dimension and elegance to any project.
I created my layout on corrugated board that was painted white and misted with Smooch Spritz in grape, cashmere and mixed berries.  The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distrezz-it-All.
Behind the heart is a die-cut made from Donna's Shadow Flowers die.  These dies make perfect accents for any layout.  The tag behind the photo was cut using her new dies, Creative Book Pages Two.
I titled my layout 'A New Beginning' because my relationship with my husband marked a beautiful change in my life.  Before I met him, I had a difficult life.  I was unhappy with myself and I struggled to take care of two children on my own.  My husband has been the source of great changes in my life, and I am who I am today because of him.

Below is a quick tutorial on how I added texture to the chipboard element behind my title (Leafy Border DA0577).
Supplies Needed:
  • Chipboard Element
  • Smooch Spritz
  • Embossing Powder (I used white.)
  • Embossing Ink
  • Heat Tool
  • Texture Stamp
  • Ink Pad

STEP 1:  Add a little color and shimmer to the chipboard element by spritzing on some Smooch Spritz.  Dry with a heat tool.
STEP 2:  Apply embossing ink to a texture stamp and stamp the image/texture onto your chippie.
STEP 3:  Cover the chippie with embossing powder.
STEP 4:  Shake off the excess powder and melt with a heat tool.

STEP 5:  Ink the edges and gently swipe across the embossed texture with an ink pad.

And you're done!  I really love the effect of Clearsnap's white embossing powder.  I tend to use it often.

I hope you enjoyed my post today.  Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Last night I found out I won the Prima August BAP Challenge!  Woooohooooo!  And then I realized I never posted this layout on my blog!  LOL.  So here it is!

I used a Prima mask for all of the masking on this layout.  The 'angelic' part of the title is a Dusty Attic chippie (Mini Words #2 DA0476) that was slightly bent to form a curve.  The doily behind it is also a chippie (Doily #3 DA0481).
Loads of Prima flowers!  Sigh... what girl doesn't love some Prima flowers?  Those awesome flutterbies were made by my talented friend, Kay.  She sells beautiful, hand-made goodies on her Etsy, Kay's Kreative Korner.
The 'beauty' part of the title is made up of Prima chipboard letters that were inked and grunged up with white embossing powder.
The fabulous scroll chippie is called Scroll #6 Small (DA0579).  Behind the photo is a regular doily covered with paper and hand-stitched.
There I go again with the lacing!  This time I covered the holes with teeny weeny pearls.  I made sure it was all done to blend into the background.  Otherwise, this layout would have been extremely busy.

Thanks for taking a peek!  See you soon!
